Someone may have reached a psychotic condition when they experience mental states that are disconnected from reality. Hallucinations or illusions are one of the main indicators of psychosis. Hallucinations can take many different forms, including audible, visible, and sensory hallucinations. They happen when the senses experience something that isn't real. On the contrary side, delusions are erroneous notions.
Psychosis is not a disease unto itself. Instead, it manifests as a sign of other diseases. In our therapy, significant concepts and thoughts are identified, the supporting data for these beliefs is reviewed, thinking biases are noted, and the relationship between thoughts and emotional state is established. In "homework" tasks between sessions, the psychotic person will be motivated to experiment with new behaviours or ways of thinking.
